Undercover Magic (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a browser extension and web-based service designed to help users compare estimated member-style pricing for Disney resort hotels. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect your data. We are committed to privacy, transparency, and user control.

1. Information the Browser Extension Collects

The Undercover Magic browser extension is designed to be privacy-first, but it does collect specific anonymous data to enable its core functionality and manage usage limits.

Data transmitted to our servers:

• Search Parameters: When you perform a search, the extension sends the selected Resort Name, Check-in Date, and Check-out Date to our servers to retrieve the correct pricing and point data.
• Installation ID: The extension generates a random, anonymous "Installation ID" to track the number of searches performed. This allows us to enforce free-trial limits (e.g., 5 free searches per day). This ID is synced with a cookie on undercovermagic.com to ensure consistent usage tracking.

Data NOT collected:

• We do not collect your name, email, or personal details via the extension (unless you voluntarily upgrade or submit a form).
• We do not collect Disney login credentials or payment information.
• We do not track your browsing history outside of the specific Disney Resort pages.

The extension stores your last-searched resort and dates locally in your browser to improve your user experience.

2. Information Collected Through the Owner Inventory Form

DVC owners may optionally submit information about their rental availability. This form may collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Home resort
• Annual points and point balance
• Banking/borrowing status
• Preferred price-per-point
• Use year
• Confirmed reservations

This information is used for:

• Matching rental requests to owners
• Improving pricing accuracy in our algorithm
• Contacting owners when a request matches their submitted criteria

We never publicly display owner submissions.

We do not sell this information to third parties.

3. How We Use Data

We use the limited information described above to:

• Provide pricing estimates inside the browser extension
• Match renters with eligible DVC owners (if applicable)
• Improve the performance and accuracy of our tools

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or resale.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share personal data with any third parties except:

• When a DVC owner has explicitly submitted information and a renter request matches their criteria
• To comply with legal obligations if required by law

We do not share data with Disney or any affiliated company.

5. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. All owner submissions are stored securely. Browser extension data is stored locally on your device via Chrome’s storage API.

6. Children’s Privacy

Undercover Magic is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
